Maths
The document is attached at the bottom of the page.

Phonics
See document at the bottom of the page.

In Phase 4, no new graphemes are introduced. The main aim of this phase is to consolidate the children's knowledge and to help them learn to read and spell words which have adjacent consonants, such as trap, string and milk.

Reading
In the documents section there are two stories. One is related to the blend of sounds that we have learned today in Phonics, the other is some extra reading containing the blend.

Writing
Write one sentence about what you have done today.

The letters ‘p’ and ‘q’ are confusing because they look so similar! Adults, can you cut up some paper squares and write ‘p’ and ‘q’ to make a pile for each. Next, can you make some squares for your child to sort:

  • write ‘p’ and ‘q’ five more times each
  • words containing with ‘p’ (pig, pink, park, pant, pick, plan)
  • words beginning with ‘q’ (quick, queen, quick, quiz, quack)

Maybe you could draw some easy to draw objects like pig and write some of the words. Can you put the cards into the right pile? (p or q)

*HINT: you can remind your child that q is best friends with ‘u’ to make the ‘qu’ sound.

Chilli Challenge: Can you find something in your house that starts with p, and then q?

Art and Design

Find a mirror and carefully look at your face, can you draw and colour a self-portrait using any resources you choose?

Chilli Challenge: Can you write a sentence about your feelings. E.g. I feel happy.
