Phonics

In Phase 4, no new graphemes are introduced. The main aim of this phase is to consolidate the children's knowledge and to help them learn to read and spell words which have adjacent consonants, such as trap, string and milk.

Reading

In the documents section there are two stories. One is related to the blend of sounds that we have learned today in Phonics, the other is some extra reading containing the blend.

Writing

During their free play, can you encourage your child to write a 4-5 word sentence relating to a character in their play? E.g. Teddy went in a shop.

Communication and Language

When you read your child a story, sit at the opposite end of the bed or facing them today so they cannot see the pictures. Can they follow the story? (I would choose quite a short story for this job).
