Homework (W/C 1st June)

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have had a brilliant first half of the week, whether in school or at home. I am so impressed by the children attending school in my class and Miss Holland has sent a letter showing how delighted she has been with her half of the class settling in.

In my classroom this week, we have really just been recapping some of the learning we did before we broke up for Easter including handwriting of the lower case letters, counting to 10 and then 20, 2D and 3D shapes and being Reading Detectives when looking at our books (words and pictures).

Miss Holland has set some homework for her class, but all are more than welcome to complete this Phonics focussed homework. I understand that each child is at their own phonics stage, therefore I have provided resources for Phase 2, 3 and 4.

Part 1 - Sound Button Powerpoint
Choose the appropriate phase powerpoint in the documents section to practise sounding out and blending words. Encourage your child to point at each sound as they say it and say the blended word in full. If you child finds this easy, move on to words further on in the powerpoint or the next phase.

Part 2 - I Spy
Choose the appropriate phase sound mat (if you are on Phase 4, choose the Phase 3 sound mat as Phase 4 has no new sounds) and see if you can find something in your house that contains this sound. E.G. The 'oi' sound in 'coin'.

Chilli Challenge: Can you write the word? (You can look at the sound on the sound mat to write it as this deepends the understanding of the sound)
